December was such a busy and exciting time for the toddlers in Fucsia! The children were busy exploring with many new exciting sensory materials. They enjoyed painting with shaving cream, cutting jello and working with textured play- doh. Having their feet painted to make special gifts for mom and dad brought lots of laughter!
We have several new toddlers starting this month in our Infant and Toddler program. It is always such an exciting time to meet and welcome new friends. In the month of January, we will be focusing on Grace and Courtesy, respecting ourselves, others, and the environment. We will also spend time talking about feelings and how certain actions make us feel.

In the month of November the toddlers in El Salon Fucsia enjoyed sorting, matching, and identifying the colors of the different types of Fall vegetables. They loved feeling all the different textures these vegetables had to offer!
In December the toddlers have started working on a special gift to bring home to their families. In making this special gift it has given the toddlers the opportunity to work with many different types of art materials such as, glue, paint, and glitter. The end of December will bring winter break. I hope everyone has a wonderful time with friends and family! October was such an exciting month for the toddlers in Fucsia. From pumpkin scrubbing to pumpkin carving the toddlers were surrounded by the sights and smells of Fall. They have enjoyed our walks around campus looking at all the beautiful colors, leaves falling, and the vegetables being harvested.
In November, we will be focusing on Grace and courtesy. The toddlers will have many opportunities to help set up and serve their friends snack. We will continue to talk about the change in the outside temperature and the need for warm clothes, such as jackets, hats, and gloves. November will also bring a focus on matching, sorting, and identifying colors. As the warm dry days turn into cold wet days the Toddlers in El Salon Fucsia are getting a lot of opportunities to work on their practical life skills! From shorts and sandals to layers, rain boots, and rain suits. We have settled in nicely to our regular routines, and I am sure we will miss the extended outdoor times the summer weather brought us.
As we move into the month of October we will be spending time talking about the change in weather, change of our outdoor environment, and the need for out winter clothes. We will be taking walks over to the nature trail to explore and see all the signs that Fall has to offer. To help celebrate the harvest season we will have different types of pumpkins and gourds for the Toddlers to explore. Pumpkin scrubbing and carving is always a favorite in the Toddler class! May brought many new friends to Fucsia. This has given the toddlers the opportunity to work on respecting themselves, and their space through advocating for themselves and their friends. We spent time working on colors through matching, labeling and songs.
We have had such wonderful weather this month! The toddlers have enjoyed our walks and playground time in the warm sunshine. We will be spending time scrubbing tables and chairs outside, as well as washing the bikes on the playground. The children love participating in keeping their environment beautiful! As summer comes with the months of July August the toddlers will keep their normal schedules, but will partake in several of the summer camp themes. These themes include: Stars and Stripes, wheels, bugs, music, construction, farming, circus, and puppets. What a wonderful time of year to spend more time outdoors and have the toddlers enjoy art and cooking projects. Welcome to El Salon Fucsia! This will be our new classroom name.
April was such a busy month for the toddlers in El Salon Fucsia. We spent time getting to know our new friends, walking around the campus enjoying all the signs of spring, and lots of time working with our colors and shapes. We had a special guest for Earth Day; The Frog Lady. The toddlers enjoyed watching, touching, and learning about frogs! We started off the month of May with an art project for the toddlers to show their Mothers just how much they love them! We will continue to work on matching, labeling colors, and manipulating more advanced puzzles. This month we will also be reading all of our new books that were donated from the book fair. Thank you to all of the families that participated! March brought some wonderful sunny days for the toddlers to get out and explore all the new sights, and sounds that spring has brought! From exploring the flowers blooming on the campus, to the birds chirping, our outside time was enjoyed by all. In the classroom we spent time cutting flowers, filling vases and decorating the classroom with colorful flowers.
As we come back from Spring Break, we will continue to talk about spring. We will be planting some seeds in our classroom so we can water and watch them grow! We will be focusing on our self-help skills this month with several of our younger toddlers starting to toilet learn, and some of our older toddlers preparing for transitions. February was such an exciting month for us! We made a wonderful transition into our new classroom. The children spent time exploring the new environment, learning new routines and enjoyed meeting new friends from Casa. We had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s day the “toddler way”! The toddlers enjoyed cutting, mixing, and eating their friendship fruit salad.
Springtime will bring new faces and a new teaching assistant to our toddler community. Please help us welcome Darina to our MCH community. With the weather changing and the new plants and flowers around the campus, we will have plenty of opportunities to talk about what springtime is! We had a wonderful time in January welcoming our new friends to Rosa! This is always such a great opportunity for our older children to show their new friends the works, and routine of the day. We spent the month focusing on taking care of our environment around us. The children enjoyed washing the windows, table and using the mop!
February will bring great changes to our classroom! We are looking forward to the move into our new beautiful room. Before the move, we will be celebrating Valentine's day “the toddler way” in our current classroom. We will be chopping, cutting and mixing fruit for our friendship fruit salad. Hope everyone had a wonderful break with their family and friends! Looking back to November, we spent time focusing on grace and courtesy. We talked about feelings, respecting others, their space and respecting our classroom.
December was a busy month and exciting month in Rosa. We continued to focus on grace and courtesy, respecting others, ourselves and the environment. We spent time talking about what goes in the garbage, recycle and compost. Several of the older children enjoyed having “coffee” or “tea” while practicing pouring and serving with their friends. The beginning of 2014 has brought some new friends to Rosa. It is always an exciting time when we get to meet new friends! This month we will be focusing on our practical life skills while caring for our environment. We have spent time scrubbing chairs, washing windows and mopping with our mop and bucket. |
